Chinese authorities imposed a record fine Tuesday on U.S. chipmaker Qualcomm, claiming that Qualcomm violated Anti-Monopoly law. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has been investigating Qualcomm since the winter of 2013, and they finally agreed that Qualcomm modifies some aspects of its business in China under the requirement by the NDRC. This case demonstrates Xi's desire to promote the rule of law which enforces economic regulations with the aim of restricting the activities of foreign giants.
