Researchers working at FireEye, a computer security firm based in Silicon Valley, recently connected the Russian government to cyberspace espionage around the world. Although evidence in the forms of named individuals and web server addresses are not currently available, FireEye researchers are able to connect the cyberattacks to Russia due to the type of malware they have discovered. The malware suggests a professional seven-year espionage effort, and the targets are often aligned with Russian interests. Source: The New York Times
