Albania - June 17th, 2014

The Vatican announced has the destination of Pope Francis' first trip in Europe: Albania. The Pope had wanted to visit a country that had "long suffered the consequences of the ideologies of the past." It is an interesting yet not surprising choice-under one of Europe's longest-ruling dictators, 20th century it became the world's first atheist country. Religious sites were destroyed, but 20 years after the fall of Communism, religious expression is clear in the country. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jun/15/pope-francis-visit-albania
